.: Common Cultural Heritage: Turkey – EU Conservation and Dialogue-II Grant Program :.

Scope

The overall scope of the project is to uncover elements of Adana's culinary culture, particularly those facing extinction, from a historical perspective, and to promote them at national and international levels. All districts and villages of Adana will be data collection sites throughout the project. Our scope includes all dishes that grace the tables of villages, are unknown to younger generations, and are likely to be forgotten within a generation. As time and budget allow, we will prepare menus faithful to original preparation techniques to capture and give the value we deserve. Our team includes experts in the field to ensure we utilize the databases we've created to the fullest.

Objectives

Identify and create an inventory of local dishes, products of a shared cultural heritage that continue to be consumed within a narrow social circle and are on the verge of being forgotten.

• Promote the inventory as a gastronomic cultural heritage on a local and global scale, utilizing educational workshops.

• Create written and digital promotional materials for Adana's historical culinary culture.

• Explore opportunities to utilize culinary culture as a tool to enhance the region's existing rural tourism capacity.

• Establish a Historical Adana Gastronomy House (AGEV) in central Adana to effectively utilize the inventory in promoting and transforming it into economic activity, particularly for women living in rural areas.

• Through our Italian partner, we will present the menus created at the end of the project to Italian culture lovers through a street festival in Padova, Italy.
